
Marble Palace, a huge building in the classical style, occupying an entire city block, built for Catherine II’s favorite Count Orlov. This is the first building in St. Petersburg, the facade of which was lined with natural stone, which was used in interior decoration of halls, especially the beautiful Marble Hall, renovated in 2010 and decorated with different types of lapis lazuli.
