Exhibition court costume XVIII Hermitage presents an exhibition of clothes of the Russian Empire, upper-class people.
Welcome to the exhibition “In the court of Russian emperors!” It will familiarize you with the costumes heyday of the Russian Empire, both male and female. Beautiful, ornate women’s dresses to go out, strict men’s suits, more simple clothes for everyday life – in this exhibition, you can touch the history, to the era in which by appearance could determine what estate owned by the man, how the state has and what his taste, which is determined by certain fashion trends. And while fashion has changed very often. Each royal lady tried to contribute, the highlight in the case related to fashion and appearance in general. It changes not only the clothing itself – and changed the way and manner of wearing it.
