Vorontsov Palace building in baroque style, built in the mid-18th century, richly decorated with stucco, gilded carvings and other decorative elements.
It was built for the new Vice-Chancellor Vorontsov, it spared no means alone the state rooms were not less than fifty. In addition to the rooms there was Vorontsov’s personal library and a garden, which spreads down to the Fontanka. These costs have driven the graph to bankruptcy, and he was forced to sell the house in 1763. After it was bought by the royal treasury, the palace was used for the needs of different organizations, from the Order of Malta and finishing Suvorov Infantry School, which is located here in the meoment.
