From 17 to May 18 in St. Petersburg will be held the “Night of Museums 2014» This year’s theme -. “Light and Color”. Museums, galleries and libraries open their doors to visitors from 18:00 to 6:00 the next day. As part of this action all the museum institutions will let people on a single ticket cost 350 rubles. It also makes it possible to get a discount in several museums after this action – in May and June. Some museums will be open until 23:00, and 45 institutions will continue to work until the morning. For ease of movement around the city created 5 bus routes.
«Night of Museums” International action for the first time was organized in 1997 in Berlin, in 1999, it was joined by France, and in 2002 the first to support the action Krasnoyarsk Museum Center in Russia . In 2005, already 500 museums across Europe open their doors at night, in 2009 their number increased to 2300.
