Maltese Chapel The monument of classical architecture,
Catholic chapel (church) of the Order of the Knights of Malta. Added in 1798-1800 (architect G. Quarenghi.) To the main building Vorontsov Palace from the garden on the orders of the Grand Master of the Order – the Emperor Paul I. Chapel solved in a columned hall with a semicircular apse and two small chapels, characterized by monumental and strict simplicity of the facade, perfect proportions, beauty used in the design of the facade and interior Corinthian colonnades. Preserved interior – paintings, sculptures and stucco processing, artificial marble cladding beautiful colors and pattern. It is one of the chamber concert halls of St. Petersburg. In the gallery on the right is the current authority of the company “Walker”, standing in the chapel in 1909, and returned after restoration to its historical place.
