The action “The sky over Leningrad” on January 27 at 16:00
on Palace Square will launch airships after the 71 th anniversary of the liberation of Leningrad from the Nazi blockade.
During World War airships strengthened anti-aircraft defense of the city, preventing the enemy aircraft to carry out a dive maneuver, as well as making it more difficult for them to drop bombs aimed.
The action will start with a procession of four columns, each of which will be borne by the layout of the airship. Columns will proceed along different routes. The first will start their way from the 13th Line of Vasilyevsky Island, the second – from St. Isaac’s Square, the third – on the Griboyedov Canal embankment, while the fourth – of Engineering square
Meeting columns occur in the Palace Square, where the launch of airships will be carried out..
